Over the last fifteen years, two thirds of council-run youth centres in England and Wales have closed. Meanwhile, at the Roundhouse, we’ve continued to invest in young people’s futures. Through creativity we develop young people both personally and professionally. When diverse young creatives face more barriers than ever before, Roundhouse remains a beacon of hope. Working with our industry connections, we’ve helped young people win awards, create films, start successful businesses and launch careers both on and off the stage.

Thanks to supporters and funders, last year we engaged with a record 10,000 young people within a year, but we don’t want to stop there. We want to grow our reach to 15,000. You can help us get there by joining this marathon trek.

  • Make a difference in the futures of thousands of young people
  • Open to both individuals and teams
  • Starting and ending in Henley-on-Thames, less than an hour’s train from Paddington
  • 26 mile (42km) marathon trek
  • You’ll be treated to a celebratory dinner at the end

This trek is suitable for both beginner trekkers and seasoned ramblers. At around 10 hours, the rolling Chiltern Hills will test your endurance, both mentally and physically. But along the way you’ll be treated to views of gorgeous landscapes, abundant with ancient woodland and tranquil fields, plus you’ll be fully supported by the Roundhouse team. From training and fundraising tips in the lead-up, through to walking with you on the day, we’ll be with you at every step taken for young people.

As a thank you for your crucial fundraising, you’ll also be invited to dinner and drinks at the finish line, hosted by our chair Simon Turner, to celebrate your incredible achievement.

We hope you’ll join us for this marathon trek. Each step you take will help upskill the next generation.

See you in the Chilterns!
